SPECIAL GROUPS UNIT

Objective

To enhance and accommodate identified Special Groups including Machinga according to their needs; with regards to Policies, Strategies; Programs, Legislatios, Regulations and Guidelines.

The Unit will perform the following activities:-

1. Conduct social mapping to identify special groups, their Needs and their Challenges;
2. Review Community Development Policy to incorporate special groups issues;
3. Develop and maintain special groups database;
4. Design, monitor and evaluate programmes related to Special Groups;
5. Identify, coordinate, supervise and monitor stakeholders’ interventions for special groups;
6. Develop special groups legislation, regulation and guidelines;
7. Provide innovative solutions/recommendations for special groups to LGAs;
8. Create awareness to special groups on adherence to laws and regulations related to their activities; and
9. Facilitate special groups forums which will involve different stakeholders.
